Lessons for Adults to Safely Ride Bikes in NYC Streets
Build practical skills for getting around New York safely. This essential one-hour class combines street-riding practice with getting to know the borough’s bike pathways: observing traffic, communicating clearly and choosing how to navigate the city.
This lesson is for experienced, independent adult riders only. You should already be comfortable starting, stopping, steering, looking around and controlling your bike. If those basics still need work, start with group riding practice or a 1:1 lesson.

What Is Adult Group Street Riding?
Group street riding is an affordable way for experienced adult riders to practice shared skills on a set route. It does not provide the individualized pace, route planning or focused support of a private lesson.
This lesson allows adults to learn how to ride a bike in the streets of NYC safely. You will learn along a route with other experienced riders who are also learning how to navigate the streets safely.
For more personal instruction, you can choose 1:1 street-riding coaching for a personal route, a specific challenge or more individual attention. Choose group riding practice when you want more handling practice before joining a street class.
